Palm Beach Civic Association History
The Civic Association was formed in 1944 to get citizens involved in the Town of Palm Beach. First efforts were on shore protection because of eroding beaches and the Port of Palm Beach.
Over the years the organization has been involved in many issues: traffic congestion, code enforcement, zoning, landmark preservation, taxes, Town of Palm Beach and Palm Beach County budgets, health care and hospital development, public safety, bridge maintenance and construction, Peanut Island, flu pandemics, town beautification, airport and other transportation concerns, water quality and conservation, over-development, Intracoastal and Lake Worth lagoon concerns, elections, and much more...
