European policymakers are taking a page from their American counterparts in dealing with their sovereign debt crisis, a development that investor Wilbur Ross, a Palm Beach Civic Association Director, considers positive. While criticizing Greece for the way it has conducted itself during attempts to keep the nation from default, Mr. Ross said the European Central Bank and others involved in the process are taking positive steps.

According to ABC25, the money will go toward a feasibility study for the deepening and widening of the Lake Worth Lagoon and Inlet so that the Port of Palm Beach can accomodate more and larger ships. The feasability study has been underfunded until now.

Port Commissioner Talks About the Port of Palm Beach, Peanut Island, and Future Plans
Wayne Richards, Chairman of the Port of Palm Beach Commission, told directors at the Civic Association Board of Directors Luncheon that the Port of Palm Beach is picking up new business, won't support the commercialization of Peanut Island, and would like to go forward with deepening and widening the inlet. Mr. Richards emphasized the importance of positive relations between the Port and the Town of Palm Beach.

The Palm Beach Civic Association is holding a Forum with featured speaker Jeff Atwater. His topic is a “State of the State” address.
Mr. Atwater will discuss the state budget, financial issues in the state including a budget shortfall, redistricting, and Primary Election politics.
This week Mr. Atwater is introducing a statewide program called "Bank on Florida." The initiative is designed to help local financial institutions and community partners assist residents to access mainstream financial services and financial education.
