Doyle Rogers
1929-2016

The Palm Beach Civic Association is grateful for the exceptional life and service of Civic Association Chairman Emeritus Doyle Rogers who passed away peacefully last Sunday.

Doyle was the best friend the Palm Beach Civic Association ever had.  He was an enthusiastic supporter of our efforts to protect and improve the Palm Beach community.  He served as Civic Association Chairman in the 1980s and Chairman Emeritus for more than 20 years.

No one loved Palm Beach more than Doyle Rogers.  He practiced law in Town for many years, developed countless friends in all walks of life, and was highly regarded for his honesty, decency, and integrity.  He was the consummate gentleman loved by all.

In 2014, he retired from the firm of Alley, Maass, Rogers & Lindsay, PA. He was a trustee of the Society of the Four Arts, director and former president of the Palm Beach membership of Hospice of Palm Beach County Foundation, a former director of Hospice of Palm Beach County, and a former member of the Federal Judicial Nominating Commission for the Southern District of Florida.

Among his many community activities, he chaired the Town of Palm Beach Charter Review Commission and its Architectural Commission.  He was a director of SunTrust Bank/South Florida, president of Town of Palm Beach United Way, president of University of Florida Foundation, president of University of Florida National Alumni Association, chairman of Community Television Foundation of South Florida Inc. (WPBT Channel 2), a life director of WPBT, and senior warden of Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea. He received the Alexis de Tocqueville Society Award, Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award,  Bethesda Vestry Silver Cross Award, and Distinguished Alumnus Award from University of Florida, from which he received both his undergraduate and law degrees.

Doyle Rogers was an exemplary community leader and also our friend.  We will miss his upbeat spirit and his passion for Palm Beach. We are deeply grateful for his many positive contributions to the quality of life in our special town.

We extend our sympathies to his wife, Barbara, his children, and grandchildren.
