Clear Lake Aerial Clear Lake is where WPB, and therefore the Town of Palm Beach, draws its water. The lake is drying up to dangerously low levels.

On Tuesday of last week, unbeknown to the West Palm Beach mayor or commissioners, or mayor in the Town of Palm Beach — West Palm Beach city officials warned the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) that it had only 22 days of water supply remaining.  The Town of Palm Beach buys all of its water from West Palm.

“Conditions are such that a significant threat exists to the public’s health, safety, and welfare; the health of animals, fish, or aquatic life; public water supply, and commercial, agricultural, and other reasonable uses,” the report stated in requesting permission for the city to tighten its watering restrictions.
