Clear Lake is where West Palm and Palm Beach get potable water to
drink, for irrigation, etc.
The drought has become so severe that West Palm Beach no longer has a source of surface water, its main means to provide drinking water for not only West Palm Beach but also Palm Beach and South Palm Beach.
In response, the governing board of the South Florida Water Management District has voted to enter an emergency order for once-a-week, phase three water restrictions in West Palm Beach, Palm Beach and South Palm Beach.
