The City of West Palm Beach Public Utilities Department began a water meter replacement program in February, 2010, that is expected to be completed in approximately five months.  The contractor for the City is Utility Partners of America, Inc.

The new meters will be read by mobile computers, allowing for less intrusion by city staff onto private property, as well as greater efficiency and accuracy. The contractor will give adequate notice to residents and businesses, however the work may cause temporary water service interruptions.  If there are any trees or shrubbery located around your current meter box you are asked to trim or cut any bushes or other items that may impair the contractor’s ability to quickly install the meter.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this project, please do not hesitate to contact the meter services division of West Palm Beach at (561) 822-2240 or David Hanks, Public Utilities Director of West Palm Beach at (561) 494-1046.
