The Wright family released the statement below today:
As you may know by now, we lost our beloved Suzanne Wright on Friday, July 29, after a nine-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Suzanne was surrounded by her family and loved ones at the time of her death. She was 69.
We wanted to make you aware of the funeral arrangements, and invite you to join us in celebrating Suzanne’s incredible life. As the co-founder of Autism Speaks, Suzanne’s fierce determination and courage sparked a national and global conversation about autism. She was a tireless advocate for the entire autism community, and has left an indelible mark on the world.
The wake will take place Monday, Aug. 1 from 2pm to 4 pm and 7pm to 9pm, and Tuesday, Aug. 2 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm, at Frank E. Campbell Funeral Home at 1076 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10028.
The funeral service will be held at St. Patrick’s Cathedral at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 3.
In lieu of flowers, we request that donations be made to Autism Speaks or the Lustgarten Foundation,which advances pancreatic cancer research.
