A letter was sent today to the Mayor, Town Council, and addressed as a Letter to the Editor at the Palm Beach Daily News outlining the need for more cuts to the proposed Town budget.

"The Palm Beach Civic Association's Tax and Finance Committee has analyzed the 2011 Town budget.  We believe the proposals are a first step in addressing the Town's looming financial concerns; however, they do not go far enough in solving the major problems facing our community." said the letter from Pat Cooper, Civic Association Director and Chairman of the Tax and Finance Committee.

"The Civic Association believes the Town Council should not accept the proposed 2011 Town budget as presented or the recommended pension reforms which are the subject of union negotiations.  We urge you to step back, look at the entire package, and require budget and pension reforms that are credible, uncompromising and sustainable for the long term."
