A letter opposing double-digit tax increases two years in a row was sent from Town of Palm Beach Mayor Jack McDonald to Palm Beach County Commissioners.
In the letter, the Mayor highlights the details of the 16.1% tax increase proposed for next year on top of the 15% tax increase for this current year and outlines why residents of the Town oppose the new increase.
“In response to these alarming tax increases and people’s frustration in not having their voices heard at the county level of government, the Town of Palm Beach has created a County Budget Task Force.” the letter from Mayor McDonald said. “We will seek to build a coalition of like-minded voters, taxpayers, and elected officials throughout the county.”
A copy of the letter was sent to every elected municipal official throughout the county.
