In Palm Beach County, about 46 percent of residential property owners will pay more in property taxes next year under the preliminary rates. Twenty-four of the 36 county municipalities have tentatively approved rate hikes. Seven others have agreed to leave their rates flat, including the Town of Palm Beach. Five have agreed to lower their rates.

The Town's budget will be adoped and the tax rate approved at two public hearings. The first Special Town Council Meeting is on Thursday, September 10 at 5:00 p.m at the WPB City Commission Chambers and another Special Palm Beach Town Council Meeting (2nd required budget meeting) on Wednesday, September 23 at 5:00 p.m. Meeting will be at the Central Fire Station in the Emergency Operations Center on the 3rd floor.
