Frequency of Maintenance Dredging Causing Concern
The Palm Beach Civic Association is concerned about maintenance dredging of the Lake Worth Inlet following the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ announcement earlier this month to withdraw its application for a state permit necessary to deepen and widen the inlet.
The Corps’ withdrawn permit application had included plans to extend ongoing maintenance dredging beyond March, when the current permit expires, but the Corps said it is now “considering its options.”
