The lines are drawn and the debaters are ready to bring a lively discussion at the Palm Beach Civic Association Election Forum – A Debate on Amendment 2: Legalizing Medical Marijuana.
The debaters, Ben Pollara and Dr. Jessica Spencer, are leading t
he campaigns for and against so come hear from them directly why you should vote on this important issue.
FOR THE MEDICAL MARIJUANA AMENDEMENT 2
Ben Pollara is the Campaign Manager at United for Care, the main organization advocating for the approval of Amendment 2 in November. He is a founding partner of LSN Partners, which provides strategic counsel to clients as they manage their relationships with local, state and federal elected officials.
He also oversees LSN’s grassroots and grasstops advocacy practice. Ben services clients in a wide variety of government affairs and business development capacities, including: procurement, regulation, business-to-business sales, political strategy and the planning and execution of issue advocacy campaigns.
As one of the premier Democratic fundraisers in Florida over the last decade, Ben has relationships with elected officials both locally and nationally. He also runs a full-service political consulting and professional fundraising company that has represented numerous campaigns including: Senator Bill Nelson, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Representative Ted Deutch, among others.
Ben served as a member of President Obama’s 2012 National Finance Committee. He was also previously the Florida finance director for Hillary Clinton for President and the co-finance director of Alex Sink for Governor. He maintains strong relationships throughout the Obama administration and has excellent relationships with the Democratic members of the Florida congressional and senate delegations as well as with their senior staff.

Dr. Jessica Spencer
Dr. Jessica Spencer is a 16-year veteran in the substance abuse prevention and intervention field. She works closely with substance abuse prevention coalitions, alcohol task forces and youth development groups in her community.
Her passion is to counsel youth who want to help others through community and public service. Dr. Spencer recently took a leave of absence from the Manatee County Substance Abuse Coalition, where she was the Project Director, to work on the Vote No On 2 campaign. In her role, she oversaw the Manatee County Youth Commission and special projects of the coalition.
She currently serves as the Statewide Coalition Director for the Vote No On 2 campaign. The Vote No On 2 campaign is a grassroots organization bringing the truth about Amendment 2 to the voters of Florida.
The coalition includes members of law enforcement, business leaders, constitutional law attorneys, doctors and other medical professionals, parents, and Floridians from all walks of life.
Dr. Spencer earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Tampa and her Master’s degree in Substance Abuse Counseling & Education as well as her Doctorate in Education in Organizational Leadership at Nova Southeastern University. She is a Certified Prevention Professional and Addictions Professional in the State of Florida.
