A packed conference room attended the Civic Association Public Information Session on the Flagler [North] Bridge Closing. Town of Palm Beach Manager Peter Elwell and his senior staff from Police, Fire-Rescue, and Public Works presented the Town's "Action Plan."
Florida Department of Transportation was represented by Geoffrey Parker from New Millenium Engineering and the public information officer Tish Burgher. They presented the engineering details and schedule of the old bridge closing, reopening, and "Plan B" if the old bridge span fails during construction of the new bridge. Plan B includes a temporary span that would be built on the old bridge.
