The Town of Palm Beach has announced that the Town Council will be making appointments of two (2) positions on the Shore Protection Board in December 2013.
The Shore Protection Board acts in an advisory capacity to the Town Council and makes recommendations to the Town Council on all matters relating to shore protection in the Town of Palm Beach including, but not limited to, beach nourishment, coastal armoring, the sand transfer plant, and the Lake Worth Lagoon shoreline. The Shore Protection Board is composed of seven (7) members appointed by the Town Council. Members of the Board serve a three-year term and must be residents of the Town, except that one of the members may be a nonresident, provided that person has a special skill as it relates to shore protection.
All citizens interested in pursuing appointment to the Shore Protection Boardmust complete the appropriate application for service and submit the same to the Town Clerk by 5:00 p.m., Friday, November 29, 2013. The appointments to the Shore Protection Board will be scheduled on the agenda for consideration and potential action at the Town Council meeting on Tuesday, December 10, 2013.
